War history exhibition “The Last Line”
Herttua is situated on an isthmus that formed part of the Finnish defensive system (“Salpa Line”) during the Second World War. The remains of trenches can still be seen in the terrain around the hotel.
Herttua houses a local war history exhibition where visitors can learn more about the Winter War and Continuation War, as well as the post-war years. Military equipment from the period is also on display. The exhibition is a tribute to Finland’s war invalids and veterans.
